Crazy

Crazy
(Willie Nelson)

Crazy,
I'm crazy for feeling
so lonely
I'm crazy,
crazy for feeling so blue
I knew
you'd love me as long as you wanted
And then someday
you'd leave me for somebody new

Worry,
why do I let myself worry?
Wond'ring what in the world did I do?
Crazy
for thinking that my love could hold you

I'm crazy for trying and crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you

Crazy
for thinking that my love could hold you

I'm crazy for trying and crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you.

(editing/phrasing mine)

I know the song was written/first performed by Willie Nelson, but, as proven tonight at the Birchmere (Alexandria, VA), it's just SO much better sung by Cassandra Wilson. Check this song out here.

I think the first performer of this song was actually Patsy Cline.

Ya know, elan - I've been thinking about this on and off since posting and meant to look it up days ago, but I'm just going to go on the assumption that he was the original writer (with all the millions of music business under his belt), and that she sang the song first, but he's redone it since then. Sounds good to me! :O)

I'm definately partial to Patsy Clines rendition. I always thought Willie wrote it for Patsy to sing. Oh well, they both made money from it! Still a great song.
